Power seemed the buzzword in the recent weeks...
I believe the Lord is teaching me about His power... :D It's always exciting to learn more about God! And when you begin to think and meditate and speak about His power, His power shows up!
These past 2 weeks had been rather eventful in terms of teaching opportunities. I taught on righteousness in a discipleship group, prayer in prayer school, and in a cell group (twice), and 9 hours on praise life on wed and sat. I had my outlines complete with scriptures prepared for each of the teaching sessions, but there is nothing like depending on the grace and the anointing from the Lord. There is more oomph in the teaching, and i just "flow" in His power and anointing.
In my praise life class, I was teaching on how praise and worship helps us to tap into the power of God. During the breaks, two students in that class asked me 2 separate questions about the power of God - how to "yield" to the power of God, and then how the power of God can be part of everyday life. It was a joy sharing with them what i had learnt from God in my walk with Him.
Another two students not in my current class also asked me about the power of God. Basic questions really... Like "what is the power of God?" and "where do you find dunamis (greek word meaning dynamite or explosive power) in the bible?" Again, i just showed them from the Word of God and in very practical terms how we tap upon the power of God and are so dependent on God's power and grace every day of our lives.
i also touched on power when teaching on prayer in the cell group, referring mainly to how the early church prayed, and how God responded to their prayer by giving them boldness, and the power or more accurately, the authority to teach, preach and heal all kinds of sicknesses (you can read Acts 2, 4 and 5, if you want).
Just recently, i had two words come to me when i was praying about the work of God: fuse and charge.
This is what the dictionary says:
Fuse: a tube, cord, or the like, filled or saturated with combustible matter, for igniting an explosive. OR a mechanical or electronic device to detonate an explosive charge, esp. as contained in an artillery shell, a missile, projectile, or the like.
Charge: To load (a gun or other firearm) with a quantity of explosive OR a quantity of gunpowder
The impression i had was that the work of the evil one had to be destroyed before the work of God could be established and built on the foundation of the word of God.
To put it simply: we have the DUNAMIS (dynamite) power of God already in us (see Acts 1:8), and we can release this power through our words to enforce the destruction of the work of the enemy which had already accomplished for us through the death, burial, resurrection and ascension of Jesus.
The enemy can put decoys or obstacles in our paths such as symptoms of illness, and challenges in the form of difficult people or situations, but we have victory. These are destroyed in the Name of Jesus! Hallelujah!
