BEING a child of God

Being a believer is not just about doing the right things, saying the right words or being in the right crowd. It is about being in a RIGHT relationship with God, not of our own doing, but because of Christ's finished work on the cross.

Galatians 4:5-7

5But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, 5to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons. 6Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father." 7So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.

It is about being God's child, enjoying intimacy with the Heavenly Father.

THIS is who we really are. We are more than just the roles we play in life - spouse, child to our natural parents, parent, colleague, employee, friend.

Being the SON or DAUGHTER of God is the very core of who we are. Our ability to develop to our fullest potential and our impact on the lives of others are rooted in who we are in relation to our Heavenly Father. When we know that we have a right relationship with God, we become assured and confident, not only in our relationship with Him, but in our relationship with others. What we enjoy as a result of this relationship is boundless, unlimited.

We have often heard it said: Don't just look for the gifts, focus on the GIVER. How do we focus on the Giver? We focus on His Desire - He seeks communion with us. We spend time with Him. We hear from Him. All the other things stem from this very communion with Him.

In the education arena, we often teach our students about being and becoming, and not just doing. These are based on biblical principles.

If you ABIDE in Him, and His Word ABIDES in you...

If you are in Him, if you be IN HIM, His Word will naturally dwell in you supernaturally, then you will become a bearer of fruit, much fruit and fruit that remains.

I am so thankful God made me HIS CHILD. I can call Him ABBA.
